OUR IMPACT

Restoration of the Florida Everglades
Scientists at Jupiter Environmental Laboratories in Florida are using an AB SCIEX system to support the environmental restoration of the once pristine waterways of the Florida Everglades. This effort requires the identification and elimination of a wide variety of pesticides and other contaminants. The scientists involved in this project are using a next-generation mass spectrometer to provide information that will enable environmental engineers to make more informed decisions regarding how to dismantle canals, transfer land, and restore natural flood plains.

Food Safety in China
AB SCIEX is assisting the Chinese government in reinforcing new standards for food safety in China. To enhance its ability to monitor the domestic food supply and global exports, the Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (CIQ) deployed 40 AB SCIEX mass spectrometers to ensure accurate identification of contaminants. These systems improve the capabilities of laboratories to scan for, identify and measure the quantity of contaminants, enabling government and industry to respond more swiftly to prevent the potential spread of contamination, while having high confidence in the results. This supports China's continued emergence as a global supplier of food products.

Biomarker Research for Monitoring Diseases
Scientists at bioM閞ieux, a world leader in the field of in vitro diagnostics, and the Institute of Analytical Sciences of the University of Lyon in France are collaborating on research to advance the discovery of biomarkers that can be used to diagnose or monitor disease. They are using next-generation, AB SCIEX mass spectrometry technology to validate newly identified candidate biomarkers. This demonstrates how our systems are setting new standards of performance that respond to the dynamic needs of scientists looking to advance their understanding of diseases.
